City block factorio

City blocks and LTN simplify a lot of the large base/complex base building. They aren't necessary, but they are pretty much objectively the most efficient way to approach it. That being said, you can beat the entire mod pack with spaghetti. It just might take slightly longer and won't look as nice in screenshots. 2..

first time designing a city block, what should i change in this ? (currently don't have access to roboports, but tried to make it the right size for them to be added later) trying to make something that's not too complex but still efficient enough to not have to worry about improving it later much. I'm using LTN for train logistics.First stage of a full belt split off. Remember to re-balance the Main Bus lines. (Read the Re-balance section that follows.) If you are pulling from a middle lane in the bus, make sure to use undergrounds to allow the rest of the products on their way. Pulling from a single belt in the middle of a 4 belt group. Its like the thick lines on graphing paper. Its just easier to do a layout that fits into 3x3 chunks than to do it "543 tiles wide". Mostly for me because the map overlay shows them. So if you want to line up a block way down south it is easier to follow the thick line than a thin one all the way down. I see.

But I agree chunk-aligned is just better and easier to integrate with other chunk-aligned blueprints (mostly rails). I'm using 128x128, because that gives me space to also fit train stations and a stacker within the cityblock. edit: here is a screenshot of my block design.Blueprint Book. I wanted an alternative to the monolithic everything-included mall I had been using for a long time, so I decided to break it up into smaller chunks that I could duplicate, place in different areas, etc. I ended up with 8 small "mall modules" of the following types: Logistics / Assembly. Ore Handling / Steam Power. In Factorio, one plant of 4 reactors produces under 500MW, counting the magic adjacency bonus with maximum steam turbines. So, to get the same power output, twice the amount of reactors are needed. Using the Factorio Cheat Sheet as a reference reveals that adding more reactors just gives diminishing returns to the power output ratio as well.

Pentagonal tiling. Nonperiodic monohedral pentagonal tilings can also be constructed, like the example below with 6-fold rotational symmetry by Michael Hirschhorn.
